Case Study: Bend Science Station – Rapid Website Rebuild with Secure Access Features

Overview: Bend Science Station faced an urgent need when their website was hacked, leaving them barely functional online, just days before the start of classes. Recognizing the immediate need to restore access for students, teachers, and staff, I took on the challenge to design, develop, and secure a new website for them in just 48 hours. This rapid turnaround ensured that Bend Science Station could continue delivering their classes and education resources without disruption.

Challenge: The hack compromised critical areas of the previous site, including curriculum access for teachers and equipment reservation capabilities. The top priorities were to:

• Rebuild a secure and fully functional website within 48 hours.

• Implement a protected, easy-to-navigate backend for teachers curriculum access.

• Equipment reservations through a user-friendly set up.

Solution:

• Rapid, Custom Design: Created a clean, professional design that reflects Bend Science Station’s mission while keeping the site intuitive for users of all ages.

• Secure Backend Access: Developed a secure, password-protected Teachers’ Curriculum section, allowing educators to safely access and manage curriculum resources.

• Equipment Reservations System: Set up a streamlined reservation system for equipment, ensuring teachers could book necessary resources efficiently.
